Quintessential American diner

Quintessential American diner

With silver tiled walls, bright red seats, lime green tables and enough neon lighting to put a rave to shame it was everything I'd hoped an American diner to be.

"CHEESECAKE always tastes better when CONSUMED after hours"

Cheesecake got me bouncing off the walls.

Cheesecake got me bouncing off the walls.

As I'm sure you're aware, New York has no sense of time. The city that never sleeps as they say. This was experienced in abundance during my trip but tonight was one time in particular. At 11:30pm after wondering around the light maze that is Time Square we slowly began making our way home. At this point we had already had dinner and a post-dinner slice of pizza but that didn't stop us from casually walking through the doors of Tick Tock and ordering a New York cheesecake and chocolate milkshake. What? We hadn't had dessert yet.

 Now you see it........

Now you see it........

 .......now you don't.

.......now you don't.

The cheesecake was off the hook. Unlike the cheesecakes I'm accustomed to this one was base free, so it was just soft, smooth cheesecake from the top down. The milkshake was rich beyond belief, made with ice cream, as all good American milkshakes are. It didn't taste fake or synthetic, it tasted of real chocolate and finished off with a dollop of cream on top. This midnight *cough* snack *cough* was a perfect, all-American experience.
