It also happens to be my lucky number. In Feng Shui it’s classified as a pretty significant number too. In fact, the Pythagoreans believed that the number three was the first true number. So as you can see there’s a lot to be said about the number three. But this is a food blog, so how does three fit into all of this? Well, some of the best food I’ve ever eaten has consisted of three simple elements. Let me give you some examples:
Dough + Tomato + Mozerella = Margerita Pizza
Pastry + Cream + Chocolate Icing = Éclair
Rice + Tuna + Soy Sauce = Tuna Nigiri
It just goes to show that with great ingredients you don’t need much to create something yummy. And Chicken Licious in Rockdale demonstrates this perfectly.

I know what you’re thinking, how does a chicken wrap compare to a beautiful wood fired pizza or rich, chocolate éclair? It’s all in the detail.
The chickens are cooked whole rotating over a charcoal pit. Absorbing the smell and flavours of the charcoal BBQ and evenly cooking the perfect crispy skin. Cooked fresh and chopped up to order their chicken is moist and tender.
Now I don’t know about you but I’m a big fan of garlic (luckily my husband is too) and we make our own garlic sauce at home. However, not matter how hard we try we just cannot top the garlic toum at Chicken Licious. If baffles me how they balance the flavours, how they whip it up into an aerated cloud-like substance, how they get the texture so incredibly smooth and thick. This is the magic ingredient that keeps me coming back. Just give me a spoon and tub of toum next time.

Set in the heart of Rockdale it’s like a mini Lebanon. Walking into Chicken Licious is like entering an old friends kitchen. A wave, a smile, a “how are you doing?”
Simple surroundings match the simplicity of their menu. Each table equipped with a box of tissues (because trust me, it gets messy). They even have a sink, soap and hand dryer positioned in the middle of the dining area for those extra messy food enthusiasts. No frills and spills here just honest, humble food to get stuck into.
I rarely come out to Rockdale but when I do I always make time for a chicken wrap and order an extra helping of garlic toum to take home. If only I could make it myself but I guess not knowing is half the magic.
