I am a model and I’ve heard it all before, 'models don't eat', 'they are an unhealthy role model', ‘models survive on cigarettes and coffee’. I am aware that for some models this may be true but I’m here to dispel the myths and I can openly and honestly admit that this woman and model, among many others, eats.

Now I'm not saying by any means that I can eat whatever I want, whenever I like and it has no effect on my waistline. Unfortunately I am not one of the lucky ones. I understand that if I chose to eat 5 scones with jam and cream for afternoon tea or 3 helpings of vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce and half a block of chocolate in one sitting (I won't disclose whether these food frenzies actually happened.......) then I need to get my butt to the gym. I also understand that pleasures are to be enjoyed and treats are to be earned. And for me food is one of life's greatest pleasures and most satisfying rewards.

Of course my number one priority is to look after myself and keep my body fit and healthy both inside and out. Not just for my work but for myself. However, I know for a fact that denial is not the way to go about this. I love my job and I'm lucky to have it but I love my life more so it's important for to me to embrace what makes me happy, and you've probably guessed by now that food plays a big part.

I believe that food has no boundaries and anything and everything goes (mostly). From homemade Sunday roasts to posh nosh on large plates, I am happy to devour a simple but satisfying eggs on toast at my local breakfast spot or test my tastebuds at the more obscure eateries.

FOOD by name, food by nature.*

I don’t claim to be a great chef or a food connoisseur of any kind but my pure love for food and modelling is what has driven me to write a blog inspired by two of my passions. [MODEL] appetite is a space for me to showcase these elements and create a fresh view on how food can be enjoyed and discovered, how the fashion world can embrace the fun and importance of good and exciting eating and how a variety of opinions and knowledge can inspire people to embrace everything food has to offer. My appetite not only for food, people and modelling but for life, is what beats at the heart of this blog.

*My last name by marriage is Ghorayeb which can also be spelt Ghraybeh which is a Lebanese shortbread cookie. It's like it was meant to be.
